Jr. Pioneers snap their losing streak

The Jr pioneers finally snap their 4 game losing streak in a 28-0 shutout against the Paragould Rams.  Up until last Thursday night the Jr. Pioneers were 0-4 this season.  John David Sonnier explains in Friday's edition of the Batesville Daily Guard how the Jr. Pioneers finally pick up a win.  John also explains how he thinks the Pioneers have picked up the pace and have good things in store for them, which I also think is true.  So the Jr.Pioneers have finally picked up a long awaited win to snap their current losing streak.

The Pioneers are starting to look up after Thursday's matchup against the Paragould Rams.  The pioneers finally pick up their first win.  0-4 is a terrible start for a Batesville team, The worst in the last decade as a matter of fact.  "The Batesville Jr. Pioneers snapped their losing streak Thursday night when they Shutout the Paragould Rams" adds John David Sonnier.  I personally understand how this breakthrough feels,  this season in varsity ball we started off 1-2 which is not a particularly good start for a Batesville team.  The Pioneers have now advanced to 3-2, so a lot of the depression and worry that some of us were feeling is wearing away now as we have won two straight games.  The Jr.Pioneers definately need to keep it up and keep winning.  People will make fun of them and talk about how bad they are if they start losing again.  Football is a fun sport but it is much more fun when you are winning.

John David sonnier said in the paper "the break was a long time coming" reffering to the pioneers rocky start to the season and Thursday night's first win.  John is exactly right in saying that, if a club gets down after several tough losses the momentum sometimes gets too far gone to gain back just as it did my 8th grade football season.  When I was in 8th grade we won a game then followed with 3 losses.  WE slowly started playing better but everyone had their heads down and we never could find the momentum that we needed for success.  So in a sense John is right on, this could be the turn around point for the pioneers.  Now that the Pioneers have a win some of the ninth grade leaders on the team need to step up and let the rest of the team know what is expected and what they need to do to reach the expecatations that the coaches and the community have.

Now that the Jr Pioneers have picked up a win things could turn in the right direction for them.  John said in the paper "could this be the turn around point in the season?"  John is asking it as a rhetorical question because now that the Jr pioneers have a win they can either coward down or they can buck up and continue right where they left off and win some more games this season.  When I was in Jr high our coaches always talked about continuation from the last game just as coach Craig Stave said in the paper "It is a continuation from last week".  He is refering to the nettleton game a week before Thursday.  The Jr Pioneers played good in the second half and kept the momentum going into Paragould's game.  Now that they have positive momentum they need to carry it into all of the following conference games.  If the Pioneers lose their momentum, it will most likely be too late to gain it back.

The Jr pioneers finally pick up a win to snap the streak.  This is the most interesting part of a football season.  The pioneers have to do one of two things now; they can coward down and keep losing or they keep the momentum going and pick up some more wins.  Many football teams would just start feeling sorry for themselves at this point ater losing so many.  But I think the Jr Pioneers are a special team.  Now only time can tell how the Pioneers will react to the adversity.
